“Speed meeting” day @ Google

Posted by admin on March 16th, 2010

For all of you still thinking about whether they should apply to the first course, here is one piece of very fresh news:

We are very happy to confirm that we will be running our first “speed meeting” day at Google! :)

We are working hard to get some of the Googlers involved that day. Participants of the first course are likely to have more opportunities to engage with Google  - especially the mobile and Android teams!

Want to be there? Get all your application info online now!

OpenDay feedback – Change to course hours

Posted by cdieurope on March 13th, 2010

So, after many interesting and long conversations with young people about the Apps for Good course yesterday during our OpenDay, we have taken the following decision:

We will run the core content of the course part-time from 12 April to 4 June 10.30am – 1.30pm Mo-Fri

Thus, we are opening this opportunity to all motivated young people who are currently in part-time education or employment. If you can committ to being available during these hours, please apply online or catch us during our youth center roadshow next week (more info to follow soon)!

We have now also updated our application guidelines and FAQs. Any questions, please comment below or drop us an email: contact@appsforgood.org

Looking for Android Mobile Developers

Posted by cdieurope on March 1st, 2010

Love what we do & want to get involved? Become a CDI volunteer

CDI is more than a traditional organisation where people do their work. Our passion and creativity is often accelerated by volunteers who love what we do and want to contribute.

This can take different forms and you can get involved in different ways depending on your interest and skills.

At the moment we are actively looking for:

Android mobile developers as mentors for our 1st prototype course

We need passionate geeks who enjoy working with a group of young people, supporting them over a few weeks in April/ May. You should have experience with the Android SDK and ideally placed your own apps successfully on Android market.

So if that’s you or somebody you know, please send Iris an email: iris.lapinski@cdi.org.br

If you are not a mobile geek but are keen to volunteer, please come to our monthly PQM drinks (see below), so we can have a chat about other opportunities that are right for you.
