Become a partner
Apps for Good is now available to be delivered within schools through its school partnership scheme. For Academic Year 2012/2013, we are offering three categories of partnership for schools across the UK, so that they can give their students access to this free, innovative, award-winning course in the most appropriate way to their context.
If you are interested in your school becoming an Apps for Good Partner fill out the expression of interest form. This form constitutes an expression of interest and request for information NOT the actual application for certified or affiliate partnerships.
Note: Recruitment for Academic Year 2012/3 will run from January to May and successful applicants will be notified by the end of May to allow sufficient preparation and training for September 2012.
- Content-only Access (open) can freely access the learning content of the course online via our Education Zone website for non-commercial purposes.
- Affiliate Partners (open for 2012/13 intake) can access the online course content online (both Learning and Educator Zones), get profiles for the organisation and teams on our Networking Platform and thus benefit from online support from the Apps for Good Expert Community and CDI Europe staff .
- Certified Partners (closed) nominate a member of staff to deliver the course and be trained through the Apps for Good train-the-trainer programme. They can access all online learning and education content, get profiles on our Networking Platform as well as benefit from online and in person support from CDI Europe staff. In addition, they have access to training and ongoing professional development opportunities for the members of staff who run the course. Their students will benefit from direct support from the Apps for Good Expert Community (Skype or in person sessions) and have access to the Apps for Good national apps competition (to be launched in early 2012).
Please note: Content-only partnerships are currently still available for 2011/12. Affiliate Partnerships are available for 2012/13.
Certified Partners are split into two sub-categories: Subsidised and Non-subsidised. To qualify as a subsidised partner, schools will need to show a least one of the following:
- High proportion of students come from low-income communities/number of students on free school meals is above the national average
- High proportion of students’ first language is not English
- Proportion of students on special educational needs register is above the national average
We also look at the overall quality of school leadership, links to the local community and role of the school and staff within the region.
For more information about the course and becoming a partner, please have a look at our Course and FAQs pages.
Due to high demand for the course, we are no longer accepting applications for Certified or Affiliate Partners in 2011. However, your school can register an interest in the scheme for 2012. Please fill out the expression of interest form.
