Melody Mic was created by Abigail, aged 12 from Dunoon Grammar School.
The IoT device helps to find the track that you want to sing along to.
What is your product and who is it for?
It is a mic that you sing into that finds and plays the matching music, for singers of all ages.
What inspired your idea, and why is it important to you?
I love to sing and do Karaoke and I want more people to be able to connect with music in an easy, fun and helpful way.
How does your product solve the problem?
You sing a song into the mic and then it searches an online music library. When it finds the song it will match the words you're singing to the right point in the music and begins playing. It will display the title and artist of the song on a little screen on the mic. There will be an option to restart the song once the music is found. There will be lights around the middle of the mic that flash in time with the beat of the song. The problem it solves is never knowing the name of the songs that you want to sing and so not being able to find and listen/sing to it.
Why should your product win its category and why should people vote for you in the People’s Choice Award?
My Melody Mic should win because it can inspire people around the world to follow their dream of getting into singing, whilst having fun. People should vote for me because who doesn’t like singing!
