About MON

MON was created by Freddie, Michael, Thomas, Mika and Samuel aged 14-15 from Dr Challoners Grammar School in England.

The app helps users get up to speed on all the essentials for your future finances.

How did you come up with the idea for MON?

After leaving school, many do not have the necessary knowledge to handle their money responsibly. Having discussed this issue and been informed by a survey, it was clear that a product able to teach students how to manage their finances independently would be a highly beneficial tool.

How did you go about developing the solution?

Designed around the user’s needs, engagement and practicality, surveys were used to establish key financial themes that would be included. By adopting the Bartle test, we explored how best to implement gamification and the interface was continuously redeveloped until optimum usability was achieved.

How does MON work?

MON teaches students how to manage finances through regular testing and constant learning in bite-size chunks. To demonstrate that information has been retained, they progress by achieving at least 80% in tests. Student’s success is rewarded by unlocking engaging mini-games where money can be earnt.
