Seventh

Creative ways to improve your mental health and wellbeing

About Seventh

Seventh was created by Fatou, aged 16, from THINK Global School.

The app uses music and creativity to improve your mental health and wellbeing.

What is your product and who is it for?

Seventh is a free app that uses music to support the mental well-being of teens.

What inspired your idea, and why is it important to you?

I was motivated by my struggles with anxiety and depression and the key role music played in me getting through the most difficult periods of my life. When I learned about the evidence-based therapeutic benefits of music, I immediately became motivated to use music to help teens like myself.

How does your product solve the problem?

Using music as a therapeutic tool for expression, Seventh employs enjoyable strategies like music listening, songwriting, beat-making, reflecting, community and guided breathing to promote greater mental and emotional wellness in teenagers. Poor mental and emotional health is a pressing issue. Nearly 1 in 5 teens experience some form of mental illness and suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death in 15 to 19 year olds. Seventh brings a free assisted tool to aid this growing crisis by using evidence-based music practices to improve the mental and emotional wellbeing of teens.

My product should win because it uses a unique approach to a massive problem. Teen mental health is steadily declining, and accessible solutions are key in stopping it from getting worse. People should vote for my idea because Seventh has the ability to create a genuine difference in the world through a medium loved by many.
