What is your product and who is it for?
Our app is aimed at children from ages 12-17 and adults. We created our app targeting children with single or divorced parents and their parent/guardian.
What inspired your idea, and why is it important to you?
For children from divorced families, everyday tasks might become more difficult and they may lose focus at school or on things that typically interest them.
How does your product solve the problem?
Our solution is to provide support for both your mental and physical well-being. This app will help support parents and children going through tough times. We understand single parenting is hard especially when your child is a teenager and doesn’t want to talk to you about their emotions.
How does it work?
The app for adults includes self-care tips, motivation notes, and guides on how to manage emotions. Budgeting tips and how to maintain a healthy relationship with your child.
Features of the app include:
Expenses:
It will show the monthly essential expenses of the parent that have been noted down.
Family Sharing:
This feature is optional and is set up by a parent, it will ask you whether you would like to share with your family or have a private account. This addition will allow you to share calendars and give you the option to share weekly reports.
Emotional:
A place where you can note down your emotions every day and improve your mental health.
The app for the children includes mini-games and a cute customisable avatar.
Why vote for Family Closer?
We really care about children's mental health - they're our future. Our app brings families together. Good childhoods are really important to enable young people to grow up feeling loved. If you're struggling at home it has an impact on the rest of your life. We want children to feel loved and supported so they can succeed in life and we believe our app helps do this.
