What is your product and who is it for?

Our product is an app for teens and young adults who are going to university and need help with developing new life skills.

What inspired your idea, and why is it important to you?

Mr Cleary once told us that his brother went off to university and stayed in a dorm. There was a bee and he freaked out, so he screamed and called his mum asking her to save him. Furthermore, many older relatives had stories of moving out to go to university and consistently having to rely on parents who live far away for things such as unclogging the toilet and turning on a stove. It is important to us as it will teach future generations, like us, important life skills.

How does your product solve the problem?

We have a cooking function that teaches people how to make different foods, ranging from simple, cheap foods, to expensive, fancy foods. We also have daily news, to inform users about different important events they can take part in, and the daily things they should know. Additionally, we have a GPS that tells them the routes they could go, and a shopping function, telling them what products are cheaper than others to avoid a growing financial burden.

How does it work?

You will be able to watch tutorials on how to do housework, such as how to take out the rubbish, how to use your vacuum and how to clean. There is also a digital route planner from where you are and how to get to a place that you can put on your favourites. Not only that, we also have a checklist where you can tick off your tasks and add on new ones. We have also made a shopping helper which tells you the latest and trendiest items available in nearby shops.
