Our app is designed for 18-30 year olds who want to experiment with their diet for the good of the planet.

We are addressing the lack of understanding of the benefits of seaweed and the importance of encouraging us to grow more. We want to raise awareness of sustainable seaweed production. Around 70% of the oxygen we breathe comes from seaweed and this has a huge potential impact on climate change.

Seaweed and seaweed farming is a different approach to climate change and a topic that is not normally known about or talked about.

Our app will increase the amount of seaweed farming which will emit more oxygen into the atmosphere and create safe habitats for other marine life. Our app will also help users live a healthier lifestyle through changing their diet and it will even make them look younger!

Our app raises awareness of the environmental benefits of seaweed and the importance of seaweed farming. Most people don’t realise that seaweed plays a vital role in producing oxygen and absorbing carbon. It produces 70% more oxygen than land plants and absorbs carbon more effectively than trees, storing an estimated 175 million tonnes of carbon each year.

Seaweedia is a very practical app. It is for everyday use and can have a great effect on one’s mindset toward the ocean. We want to help make seaweed accessible so young adults can incorporate it into their diet by both buying it and using it in recipes. We also use the app to educate people about the benefits of seaweed because there is so little knowledge out there.

Seaweedia gives you seaweed facts. You can discover seaweed’s hidden benefits and purpose in life - What is it? Why is it good for you? How does it benefit the world? How can it make you look younger?!

You can also access seaweed recipes and learn how to cook with seaweed and then upload your recipes so you can share your ideas with others.

There's also the 'Seaweed Shopper', where can you purchase seaweed products using a link to Google Maps to find local supermarkets and the most eco friendly way to get there.

People should vote for our team as it could be the one stepping stone our app needs to raise awareness for seaweed farmers. Many people don't always realise this, but the little things we do to prevent climate change are worth just as much as the bigger things.
